Allied Services

2026- The Institute is conducting a secondary data analysis on the health care workforce (including mental health) demand and capacity to include all healthcare occupations identified by Allied and hospital and long term care beds based on the socio economic profile of the region and current regional assets. The region will include Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Susquehanna, Bradford, Sullivan, Schuylkill, and Wyoming counties. An assessment of education programs, including pipeline programs will be assessed. The Institute will analyze trends and changes in the healthcare workforce from the pre-COVID period through the present and project forward to 2036. The assessment will address overall demand, extending beyond industry and occupational growth. It will incorporate the region’s socio-economic factors—such as age distribution, insurance coverage, and disability status—to evaluate needs. Additionally, the analysis will examine trends in hospital and long-term care bed availability. All findings will be based on the most current and reliable secondary data sources. The assessment will also review existing higher education and pipeline programs, along with their capacity, to identify gaps and additional community needs. This information will be gathered from federal data sources and institutional materials. Finally, an economic impact report will be prepared demonstrating the impact (indirect and induced) on the economy, business sectors, and taxing entities of a CNA job.
