Maternal and Family Health Services

2024 – Ongoing: The Institute will assist Maternal Family Health Services in developing a framework for a Regional Maternal Health Collation. After gathering a committee, a multi-year analysis will be completed.

October – November 2022: The Institute prepared an economic impact analysis for use with RCAP funding to support the organization’s expansion location in Scranton.

July – October 2021: For the 15 counties footprint served by Maternal & Family Health (Berks, Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming), The Institute developed a demographic profile, identified the health characteristics required by the Title X RFA, summarized overall health data by county, evaluated the socioeconomic determinates of health and reported on client demographics of MFHS. These components mirrored the 2018 study.

2018: The Institute completed a needs assessment that provided insight on the women’s health needs of the counties and population served by the organization. The information helped MFHS understand the actions needed to improve the capacity of its network, address the need gaps in the service areas, and support its Title X grant application.

2017-2018: This project identified the unmet needs of the population served by The Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. Reproductive Health and Family Planning Program. The report identified high-risk counties in the 15-county service area and provided information regarding capacity-building opportunities.

2017: The Institute oversaw the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) with MFHS, which is a community health program that serves low-income at-risk women pregnant with their first child. The Institute also oversaw the grant and budget application process for MFHS and tracked progress and program operations.
