Jill directs The Institute’s research, organizational strategy, and is responsible for day to day operations.

Teri Ooms, MBA

Founding CEO
Teri provides leadership for the organization’s strategic direction and oversees back‑office operations to ensure operational excellence and long‑term growth.

Sarah Bender

Research Analyst
Sarah conducts data analysis and provides quantitative and qualitative research support across a variety of projects.

Ethan Van Gorden, MSLS

Research Analyst
Ethan provides research support on community based and client projects. His expertise lies in qualitative analysis and story telling.

Timothy Ooms, MBA

Research Analyst
Timothy conducts quantitative analysis in workforce, business, and industry data.

Emily Bauer

Administrative Coordinator
Emily is responsible for the weekly Institute Review, website functionality, and secondary research.  

Michael Shuba

Research Assistant
Michael has been working on literature reviews,  policy briefs and collecting data for indicators. He supports the community engagement team in field research

Jean Holmgren

Marketing and Communications Manager Jean is managing The Institute’s website and social media, developing external communications, marketing materials, and public relations, and assisting with writing and editing projects at the organization.

Jolene Carey-Pace, Ed.D

Specialty Research Consultant
Jo is a contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of projects, from research method development through delivery, along with performing complex study and data collection methods. 

Brigitte Guariglia

Research Analyst
Brigitte’s specialty is in quantitative data analysis, with a primary focus on health disparities within underserved communities. Brigitte works on the annual Indicators report, authoring articles for the Quarterly Economic Tracker, and performs primary and secondary data analysis and interpretation for client projects and subject matter task force research.

The Institute is a partnership of 13 colleges and universities and the business community, with offices in northeastern Pennsylvania.
